Client Services Specialist & Legal Assistant Position (Vets Welcome!) (West End of Richmond, VA)

Paid on-site training for 4 weeks. We remain confidential with your application. We'll note start-date that is best for you, particularly if you have a current job that needs formal notice.

Thank you for your interest in the Client Services Specialist & Legal Assistant position with Smith Strong, PLC, a family law and estate planning firm (divorce, custody, estate planning, elder law, estate litigation matters) headquartered in Richmond at 8411 Patterson Ave, Henrico, VA 23229, at intersection of Patterson and Parham (across from Buckhead's Steakhouse). This job is not for everyone, however, it will be the "perfect" job for someone. We are losing our wonderful staff member as she leaves to attend law school this fall.

Start Date: As soon as we find the perfect person [so that can be right away, or if your current employer needs more time, we’ll work with you, confidential application process.]

Description: We need a self-starter. We need someone that is disciplined and can execute a busy schedule with ease, and thrives on the pace of a busy law office. We also need someone that is independent and can run with a project until it is completed, problem solved. Solutions oriented candidates are welcome. You will work, each weekday, with the following people: current clients, past clients, potential clients, referral sources, attorneys, court staff, paralegals. You must love the telephone and email as many of the tasks for this position center around communicating (well) to people over the phone and by email. You will work directly for attorney Van Smith (learn more about him and the firm at smithstrong.com).

(higher hourly rates available for highly qualified candidates, certainly rapid pay increases and bonuses for the selected candidate.)

Dress: Professional, polished look. No casual Fridays, but we take incredible lunch adventures on occasion, so, most people also keep sneakers in their trunk, just in case. We are taking the whole firm (voluntary, of course) from 3-5PM at Top Golf this Friday, you just never know.

Preferred Qualifications:

Highly organized. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required. Without a college degree, experience such as office manager, assistant, former military, sales positions, law firm, or corporate professional encouraged. Computer proficient, of course. Personable. Welcoming. Punctual. Dependable. Very comfortable writing, editing and ensuring details are just right. Eager to learn. Eager to help clients. LOVES TO BE BUSY. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage a variety of tasks from a variety of different sources (clients, courts, staff). Based upon the individual preferences of the specialist they may wish to transition into a full-fledged paralegal function, over time, with our firm. This is certainly strongly encouraged.
