Join the Markets Data Lake Product Engineering team as a Technical Product Owner and you will be an integral part of the build out of a high-profile, modern data platform and analytics suite that serves a wide variety of internal users and business use-cases.As a Senior Product Associate in Markets Data Lake, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success.The Markets Data Lake is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Data Lake implementation built and owned by Consumer & Investment Banking Markets Technology that provides ingestion, transformation, cataloging and consumption tooling for other teams across Consumer & Investment Banking Markets. We are looking for candidates who can become Product owners whilst helping to build out Data Products that will help our clients drive insights and understanding of the markets business. Our users will span all areas and seniorities within the firm, and you will be responsible for producing curated high quality data products produced from raw data landed by producers. You will be required to understand the business uses cases we are answering and the data, transforms and enrichments that need to happen to answer them - and then implementing them in a cloud environment.Job responsibilities
Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery
Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience
Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers
Analyzes, tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle
Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development
Work with the wider team to define test strategies, conduct acceptance testing, and ensure the quality of deliverables.
Foster software engineering best practices: unit testing, regression testing, code reviews, code reuse, and performance optimization to plan and coordinate releases, including feature prioritization, sprint planning, and sprint review sessions.
Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and impediments that may impact the delivery timeline or product quality.
Define clear metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the data lake application (including adoption and quality), ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
Understand, contribute, and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data lake application in alignment with business value and objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of the data lake application.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle
Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy
Experience working in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, with a focus on delivering incremental value and adapting to changing requirements.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
Strong understanding of data lake architecture, data modeling, ETL processes, data governance, and data analytics in a banking environment.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to drive product strategy and enhancements.
Strong leadership and facilitation skills to lead cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and drive results.
Adaptability and willingness to learn quickly on the job.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certifications, and certifications related to data management or banking technology.
Build out of a high-profile, modern data platform and analytics suite to amplify the value proposition of business use-cases.
Cloud Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar.
Knowledge in one or more modern programming languages, including either Python or Java or Scala.
Knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines and industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
Knowledge of big data platforms such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Apache Fink or AWS engineering.
Overview and understanding of a Markets Trading Environment: solid understanding of different asset classes and main products traded and basic analytics.
