This is a remote work opportunity.Responsibilities:
Provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical, and process views for enterprise monitoring, event management and logging solution(s)
Facilitate organizational change by defining strategies for the Firm with respect to technology domain standards and design goals, focusing mainly on monitoring, event correlation, service dependency mapping
Develop and maintain roadmaps, which include product selection, versions, upgrades, projects, and milestones; conduct research focused on identifying emerging technology solutions that reduce costs, increase efficiencies, provide more value and capabilities, reduce risks, and increase security; perform activities such as readings, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and lab testing
Lead efforts for technology evaluations, which involves identifying a weighted feature matrix for a specific need and evaluating and scoring products against the desired features
Communicate leading practices by giving presentations, working with project teams, and authoring content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies, and otherwise defined leading practices; work individually and collaboratively with team members to ensure breadth and granularity of strategies, standards and reference architectures for consistency and integration
Provide vision and guidance on unified monitoring; gather data from disparate monitoring tools and create a unified solution to help isolate and resolve issues faster; take on call responsibilities for incidents response and triage
Qualifications:
Minimum ten years of recent experience in Monitoring, Logging, Incident and Event management; experience in an Operational role at some point in career
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; additional credentials/certifications specific to monitoring solutions or associated IT Operations is preferred
Experience with master of masters, event correlation, ServiceNow ITIL and preferably CMDB; previous experience with monitoring solutions such as SCOM, SCORCH, SolarWinds, DataDog, Splunk, Sentinel, Prometheus, Zabbix, NetCool and others
Development experience with interpreted languages, for example: Python, Ruby, and others as well as markup languages such as JSON, XML, YAML and more
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing monitoring architecture and reference architectures from business requirements gathering to technology rollout oversight, including capacity management, definition of scoring methodologies for technology selection, integration of multiple tools and technical documentation
Excellent verbal/written communication, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority; must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and team work; strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills; capability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; able to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans
