Description:

Perform field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials

Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements; and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results

Ability to read and interpret project plans, contract specifications, apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles

Evaluate site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and provide recommendations based on findings and project specifications

Understanding of soil classifications and experience with understanding how the material’s moisture content impacts compaction

Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures

Perform field materials testing of soils, including proctors, soil density and moisture testing

Utilize a nuclear gauge to perform soil testing

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years experience with Testing & Inspecting construciton materials (Required)

NCDOT: Conventional Density, Concrete Field, QMS Density Gauge, QMS Roadway, ABC Nuclear Densit (Preferred)

NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing in one or more of the following categories: Soils, Concrete, Asphalt (preferred)

ICC certification in one or more of the following categories: Reinforced Concrete, Soils Special Inspector (preferred)
