JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Lead Person, or Shift Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic maintains the quality performance of production, auxiliary and repair equipment to enhance efficiencies and safe plant operations.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual.)

Provide timely response of all trouble calls. Diagnose and remedy problems as requested.

Repair and replace equipment and apparatus in an efficient, sanitary and safe manner.

Document tasks completed and time required.

Perform:

o preventative maintenance work and document tasks completed, time to complete and any deficiencies found.

o start-up and shutdown of equipment, involving the energizing and de-energizing of equipment.

o bench repairs in a timely manner, but not to preclude responding to trouble calls or performing preventative maintenance tasks.

Operate power tools, hand tools, welding and cutting equipment or aerial lifts when required.

Accountable for providing complete and accurate daily maintenance work reports.

Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.

Comply with all plant and food safety, FSMA (HACCP & HARPC), GMP, and sanitation regulations.

Report all unsafe operating conditions, practices and personnel.

Follow written or verbal instructions in performing assigned maintenance tasks. Maintenance tasks may include building repairs, metal fabrication and cement and tile work, when needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Knowledge

Two years of technical school, or equivalent

PLC and electrical knowledge

5 Years job experience in a manufacturing maintenance position

Must take the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.

Must be able to attend and travel to technical schools, if required.
