From recruiting to internal policy, financial stewardship to facility management, total rewards benefits to conscious leadership, everything we do comes from the belief that the well-being of our people matters, the integrity of our systems is critical, and the health and vibrancy of our workplace culture is paramount.What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for a seasoned Senior Finance Manager who will play an active role in overseeing the financial health of the organization and help ensure our continued vitality and resilience. This role reports to the Chief Executive of People & Finance and will oversee important finance functions, including but not limited to our programmatic invoicing functions, internal financial controls, monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reporting, tax filings and annual audit. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is energized by tracking and analyzing everyday financial activities and subsequently providing a quarterly financial narrative that can help inform decision-making as it relates to business strategy.Areas of ResponsibilityMaintain the financial health of the organization with robust oversight of financial systems and internal controls while tracking the broader strategic landscapeProduce accurate and timely financial reports and strategic data analysis and modelingOversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organizationOversee annual audit, and liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintainedAnalyze and report on the success of business initiativesManage the budget development and maintenance process in collaboration with the Chief Executive of People & FinanceWork with internal stakeholders to track budget spending and approvals and engage staff in regular quarterly financial updates Maintain cash flow forecasting and work with internal stakeholders to forecast short and long term financial performance and business activityActively manage cash reserves and cash sweep accountsEnsure all financial activities are compliant with 501c3 regulatory requirementsPartner to complete the annual 990 tax filings with CPASupport project analysis, validation of strategic project plans, and ad-hoc requestsImplement processes for grant administration and compliance with grant requirements, including the use of restricted funds and reporting.Actively demonstrate the Non-GMO Project’s behavioral values in actionAs a team player, step in at any level of work to contribute to the final productEngaged with issues of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusivenessEngage with a continual learning and developmental cultureAdaptable and comfortable with an agile approach to day to day work and strategyProblem-solve with diplomacyHandle confidential or sensitive information with sound judgment and discretionExperience You BringA bachelor's degree or equivalent background in accounting, finance, business administration or related field of experienceProven experience as a Financial Manager (5+ years of experience)The ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable informationThe ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with internal stakeholdersExcellent business judgment, analysis, and decision-making skillsKnowledge of robust financial reporting tools, including demonstrated use of Excel, Word, Google Suite and PowerPoint to communicate financial data and inform decision-makingProficient user of finance software (Quickbooks), experience with Salesforce a plusA solid understanding of financial accounting principles (GAAP)Working knowledge of non-profit accounting and associated regulationDemonstrated ability to gather and analyze a variety of financial and business informationFamiliar with non-profit accounting regulations, 990 tax requirements and annual financial auditsDemonstrated self-awareness, service-leadership and relationship-focusCurrent Benefit PackageHealth, vision, and dental insurance includes a wide range of medical insurance options to choose from.
