-You will be a professional assistant for an individual that has a physical disability that limits their ability to complete certain job functions while they are performing job duties.

-You will be assisting a full-time employee in a professional office, it is imperative that you must have good work ethics, able to focus and good intelligence.

-This individual is very easy to work with, but it is crucial that you take your role serious, and meet the agreed upon expectations and requirements.

-You must conduct yourself with professionalism and with respect at all times.

-This individual's primary role is to educate the public, organizations and lawmakers about how to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

-This individual is working in an office environment as well as in the surrounding community.

-This job does include occasional travel both in and out of the state, and you will need to accompany them. Travel is pre-planned and expenses will be covered, including airfare, transportation and lodging.

Essential Job Functions:

-Assist this individual with their various employment tasks throughout the day.

-Tasks will include word processing, speech translation, note-taking, assisting with attending and facilitating meetings, answering phone calls, etc.

-Other duties will include assisting with activities of daily living (ADL’s), which will include meal preparation, assistive walking, restroom assistance, transportation, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Be able to work effectively with the individual

-Ability to follow oral and written instructions, good communication skills, good judgment, and a willingness to listen and learn

-Ability to occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays

-Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and other virtual video conferencing programs, various web browsers, Apple and Microsoft operating systems, etc.

Education and Experience:

-High School Diploma or GED

-Some college is preferred but is not require
