Position Summary:

The Environmental Response Technician will work on-site at the Anchorage, Alaska office, with extensive multi-week assignments at the Dutch Harbor Facility, and other depots or temporary job sites as needed. The individual will be part of a team providing critical emergency response, and compliance solutions to RESOLVE’s client base. This is a full time hourly based position of 40 hours per work, with extensive overtime as demanded by projects.

Position Responsibilities:

Respond to oil spills, marine casualties, or environmental response activity worldwide, for prolonged periods of time.

Spill cleanup and coordinating cleanup done by and Resolve Spill Response Personnel and outside contractors.

Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on response inventory, conduct modifications and repairs as assigned. Maintain spill response equipment inventory consistent with contingency plans and company standards

Arrange for shipping of Non-hazardous waste.

Perform site inspections around Resolve or Customer Facilities to ensure areas are free from all environmental and safety risks.

Assist in maintaining records associated w/permits and other regulatory requirements.

Perform other environmental services work including tank cleaning and confined space entry at the Dutch Harbor Facility or other locations.

Operate variety of equipment including truck, extend-a-boom lift, loader, forklift, pallet and hand truck, response equipment, pumps and vacuum units, as well as various powered and un-powered hand tools.

Ability to perform work on large and small vessels

Stand a 12-hour watch using 1-Call Alaska Tracking and Monitoring Program as-needed basis

Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Associate degree in pre-engineering, environmental sciences, emergency management, or a High School diploma and two years’ experience in engineering, maritime, environmental response/compliance, or emergency response

Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER or the ability to get one within 90 days of employment.

Must pass a criminal background check and be found eligible for a Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC) and Anchorage Airport security identification display area (SIDA) badge.

MUST PASS A USDOT Drug Screen including being Marijuana Free.

Clearly speak, read, write and understand the English language.

Intermediate computer skills, to include Microsoft Excel and Word.

Self-directed and work with minimal supervision.

Ability to wear and work in a respirator (half and full-face).

Ability to wear and work in a self-contained breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

Ability to work within a tank, void or other confined space

Travel Requirement:

Up to 50 to 70% travel is required for extended periods of time.
