Thrive and Camp Wild Heart are looking for caring, organized and energetic individuals to lead activities and oversee homeschool, afterschool and summer day camp participants.

These are part-time positions (4 to 35 hours per week dependent on availability). Preferred availability would be Monday thru Friday 8:45am to 5:45pm.

Applicants MUST be available to fill at least one of these available shifts:

M/W 8:45 to 1:45

T/Th 8:45 to 1:45

M/W 2:15 to 5:45

T/Th 2:15 to 5:45

RESPONSIBILITIES

Guide children through academic, enrichment and social learning

Organize classrooms and projects in a way that facilitate self direction

Allow children the freedom and opportunities to develop their passions

Instructing classes in the themes of your choice (anything from sewing to science to painting to electronics)

Create a relationship with each family and student so that you can greet them each morning and connect them at the end of the day

Oversee the general day to day flow of our program

Monitor the parking lot, playground and facility

Ensure the safety of all students and families

Follow safety procedures and suggest changes when necessary

Guide an environment and expectations that strike a balance of both risk-taking as well as physical and emotional safety

Provide guidance and monitoring of participants

Monitor daily attendance and know where participants are at all times

ABILITIES

Ability to work respectfully with students and provide loving boundaries

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to communicate well with both students and parents

Ability to remember names and details to form strong bonds with students and families

Ability to work independently, address needs as they arise, take initiative in creating and implementing solutions

Organizational skills for materials and student scheduling

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience facilitating programs with elementary school aged children and their families is preferred. Preferences will be given to candidates with advanced education, ECE units, experience with alternative education specifically homeschooling, after school programs, Self-Directed Education and/or Waldorf or Montessori. Above all, you must highly value facilitating learning with children through respect and connection.

CPR/First Aide training must be current and in place before your first day of work. Must pass a fingerprint clearance.

3) Is there a class(es)/subject matter you are prepared to teach or excited to learn how to teach? Our classes range from enrichment choices such as sewing and woodworking to academic choices like language, math and science.
