Job Description

TeamBuilders Employment & Business Solutions is hiring for a Payroll Administrator to join a local food processing company in Fresno, CA.

The Payroll Administrator will work within the Accounting Department of a fast-paced food processing company and will work under the general direction of the Controller. This role will require general accounting experience and will be responsible for overseeing all employee payroll duties for both Union and Non-Union employees, ensuring all employee time cards are completed accurately and processed according to local, state and federal guidelines on a bi-weekly basis. The Payroll Administrator will be the primary contact for all managers and employees with regard to time & attendance and payroll related matters.

The Payroll Administrator position is being offered on a full time, direct hire basis Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and may occasionally require some overtime and Saturday work as necessary. The starting pay range is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, DOE. Company offers an excellent benefits package and an outstanding, team-oriented work environment.

The Essential Duties of the Payroll Administrator:

  • Bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 200 Union & Non-Union employees via automated payroll software
  • Management of HRIS data entry including; Wage Garnishments, Payroll Deductions, Direct Deposits, W4 and DE4, 401k modifications, processing 401k loan requests, processing manual and final checks, updating insurance coverage and entering job title and department/division transfer details
  • Analysis of payroll discrepancies
  • Reconciliation of benefit invoices
  • Processing unemployment claims & wage garnishments
  • Administration of retirement plan processing and reporting
  • Tracking and updating employee Paid Time Off as well as disciplinary action/time loss points for union employees
  • General administrative, accounting and payroll related duties as required and assigned

Required Skills, Experience and Education of the Payroll Administrator:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Payroll Administration for more than 150 employees, preferably with both Union and Non-Union employees and previous experience in general accounting
  • A BS Degree is preferred but an AS Degree and combination of experience will be considered
  • Full cycle payroll experience is required, proficiency with Paychex software strongly preferred
  • Must be knowledgeable of basic accounting principles as well as basic human resources familiarity
  • Ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information
  • Professional communication skills; Verbal, Interpersonal and Written
  • Impeccable attention to detail, high level of accuracy and outstanding time & project management skills required
