Genesis10 is currently seeking a Researcher II with our client in the SEO industry in their Mountain View, CA location. This is a 6 month + contract position. Summary:
- We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: "Focus on the user and all else will follow. "
- We're passionately interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their goals and needs, attitudes and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create.
- The User Experience team is a critical driving force behind gathering these insights and then using them to inspire and inform design.
- We are a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers, copywriters, and UX engineers who collaborate closely with each other and with Engineering and Product Management to create innovative, and usable products that people love.
- In this role you'll have the opportunity to support our research activities in developing innovative, user-friendly products.
- We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills, can work fairly independently, and are diligent and detail oriented.
- Prepare user research activities (working with the recruiters to schedule study sessions, setting up the usability lab, etc., engaging with stakeholders)
- Plan and execute usability testing sessions and interviews
- Conduct deep-dive interviews with users
- Analyze qualitative & quantitative data
- Communicate findings from the study to stakeholders and research lead
- Create reports & deliverables (including creating graphs, highlight videos, slide decks, etc.)
- Analyze, interpret, and summarize existing research
- Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior; or in lieu of degree, related work experience
- 35 years of applied industry research experience (in a software or app development industry)
- Demonstrable experience and comfort employing product-focused user research methods
- Detail-oriented and ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Can prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects
- Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
- Technical aptitude
- Familiarity with basic graphic and video editing tools
- Experience working on merchant-facing products, e.g. payments tools, e-commerce platforms etc.
