Description:Providence is calling a Certified Nursing Assistant to PACT for Per Diem Day Shift to Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CAWe are seeking Certified Nursing Assistant who will support the Mission and Vision of Saint John's Health Center. This is achieved by assisting the Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse in patient care tasks and other unit based activities within the Department assigned.In this position you will:Fulfill CNA role within the scope of practice:

Assist in the care of patients requiring constant nursing observation

Continuously collecting data on all patients including: Vital signs and Intake/Output and informing the RN/LVN of findings

Perform patient admission, transfer, and discharge activities

Perform continuous observation of patients and the patient care area

Seek assistance when needed

Implement care based on the unit and hospital standards

Identify and report change or abnormal findings in patient status such as consciousness, pain, bleeding and vital signs

Practice in a professional, collaborative, and proactive manner in all interactions with patients, visitors, physicians and staff:

Demonstrate flexibility adjusting to changes in patient acuity and workload

Identify risk management issues and communicating potential problems to the appropriate personnel

Practice cost effective methods in the delivery of care:

Use available resources efficiently

Establish priorities in providing care

Demonstrate understanding of overall Unit needs and using downtime to assist others

Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Sufficient for license/registration

Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate

Current BLS card

6 months CNA experience in acute, sub-acute or skilled nursing facility setting

Capable of dealing effectively with multiple demands and events

Able to prioritize, organize and coordinate patient care under the direction/delegation of the RN/LVN

Assures appropriate follow-through with legal, ethical, risk management, and safety issues involving patient care delivery

Competent in use of basic Health Center equipment

Competent in use of Patient Care Information System
