Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome a Project General Supervisor (PGS) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll provide functional direction and oversight to vendors engaged in the daily activities of constructing, maintaining and restoring Southern California Edison’s electrical distribution system. The PGS will be monitoring safety and ensuring a quality product is delivered, appropriate levels of productivity achieved, accounting accuracy and timely field processing regarding work order closure for all assigned contractors within the bounds of the appropriate contract.As a Project General Supervisor , your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Validation of service confirmations, time confirmations, unit priced tasking, and field change orders.

Monitoring assigned contract crews for safe, productive, and quality work practices.

Executing scopes of work in alignment with regional objectives and contract procedures.

Meeting timelines and maintaining good customer relations.

Reviewing, authorizing, validating, and tracking assigned work scopes and scope changes at the field level.

Meeting customer requirements, resolving conflicts and meeting deadlines.

Supervising employees and leading all aspects of contractors/suppliers.

Ensuring warranty corrections are completed, inspecting work for safety and quality as well as conducting root cause analyses.

Performing contractor field safety assessments.

Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.QualificationsThe essentialsTwo or more years in an electric utility performing or supervising in planning, design, construction, maintenance, standards & development, system operations, field operations, engineering, or construction project management.

Valid driver’s license.

The preferredTwo years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.

Two years’ experience and familiarity with line construction contractors’ operations.

Experience with regulatory requirements related to construction and maintenance of electrical systems (GO 165, 128 and 95).

Experience with the technical and commercial aspects of contract management.

Experience applying environmental health and safety compliance and material management requirements.

Experience with project store and contractor satellite staging area (CSSA) requirements.

Experience using the Customer Outage Communication Optimization (COCO) process.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a general knowledge of SAP.

Bachelor’s Degree.

You should know …Work Mode :This position’s work mode is on-site . The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

The successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work location during storms and wildfires.

Position will require up to 75% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

Relocation does not apply to this position.

This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
