We're working to transform AAA for the next century with a mission to create Members for life by unleashing the innovative spirit of our Team Members.SummaryThe Director plans and manages the activities of a team that provides analytics consulting support, fraud detection & prevention, and reporting & metric development in collaboration with multiple business units. This is an accelerated leadership role that will provide a high level of exposure to the executive team and rapid opportunities for advancement with high performance.Strategic Analysis

Proactively raises significant issues or opportunity trends based on data analyses

Advises business groups by providing strategic direction to initiative prioritization and resource allocation

Provides meaningful insights that enable tangible improvements to business results

Guides and supports business analysts with synthesizing complex data from multiple sources of information into actionable insights that provide for the bigger picture

Business Case Development and Execution

Provides recommendations and reviews solutions for short and long term strategies/ actions to executive management

Identifies subject matter experts in support of cross-functional efforts

Collaborates with all stakeholders in lead or support role to implement projects

Reporting

Manages overall business unit reporting and metric development to assure successful and ongoing integration of all business initiatives

Responsible for all data management including: managing existing Tableau dashboards, making incremental enhancements, and developing new reports and metrics to appropriately raise business issues that lead to actionable outcomes

Process improvement

Use advanced business analysis and improvement methods to address large scale/highly complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of business, process, and people

Establish best practices to improve the quality of the value chain to better meet member needs while supporting efficiencies and cost reduction

Collaborates with other teams to identify opportunities and refine solutions to add value

Team Management

Plans, manages, and controls the activities of a team that is responsible for analytics, consulting, and operational support to internal customers

Acts as primary decision maker for hiring, termination, performance development, salary, and promotion decisions for direct reports to ensure efficient operation of the function

Responsible for managing budgets, schedules, work plans and performance standards

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Proven exceptional analytical, planning, problem solving, and solution design skills

Project planning and management

Ability to discern between best theoretical solutions and best realistic solutions

Expertise and proven track record in managing complex, multi-functional initiatives

Strong communication abilities applied throughout all key levels in the organization, including both verbal and written communications

Excellent strategic, organizational, and problem solving skills

Expert knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts applicable to consulting and ability to manage others to achieve results

Expert research and investigation skills

Excellent application skills required, including Excel, Tableau, MicroStrategies and other desktop applications

Directs and controls the activities of multiple similar teams. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods. Consistently demonstrates people leadership capabilities at a high level.

Education & Experience / Licenses & Certification

Bachelor's degree required; business, engineering, or mathematics preferred

Advanced degree preferred

Experience with analytics tools preferred

8+ years experience conducting financial and/or business analysis

5+ years Project /Program Management or Consulting Experience

3+ years leadership experience

Work Environment RequirementsWorks in an office environment sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for extended periods of time. May travel by car, plane or other form of transportation to attend business meetings or conferences. Approximately 50-80 percent of the time spent on the job involves the use of a personal computer.Innovation.
