DescriptionAccountemps is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term temporary role of Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

Requirements

Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Sales tax experience preferred

Account reconciliation experience

Sales Tax Returns experience

Microsoft Excel experience preferred

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

ERP system experience

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
