Job Description

Fostering an Innovation and continuous improvement environment, you are responsible for the Product Life cycle Management team for the Group Supply Chain of BIC. In close collaboration with Group Insight & Innovation and Group Commercial, you will be the guardian of the portfolio efficiency from a supply chain perspective. You are responsible for optimizing the number of skus across the company to gain a perfect understanding of the business and the supply chain processes. You will drive the global initiatives that will help reducing the non-added value portfolio complexity and adapt the process and system to manage the complexity driven by market trend.

As the leader of the product data management system, you will secure the quality of data into our systems and standardize the processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop solid leadership position as owner of Portfolio Range Efficiency for Global Supply Chain
  • Demonstrate solid portfolio range efficiency leadership and business acumen while influencing Senior Leadership within global Commercial and GI&I (Group Insight & Innovation) Organization to reach optimum Portfolio Supply Chain efficiency
  • Work in close collaboration with business teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance and RGM (Revenue Growth Management) team) to define ambitious portfolio performance target (# of sku, sales per skus)
  • Develop strong understanding of the Portfolio at BIC from the raw material, through the components until the finished goods. Be the owner of the end to end understanding of our portfolio
  • Work in close collaboration with GI&I and Commercial during the new product development phase to build the optimum portfolio range in term of cost, cash and operational excellence (OTIF)
  • Prepare, promote and animate the Product Life Cycle processes through the different functions
  • Launch: Animate and secure the product launches in every region by aligning the actions of Commercial/Demand/Supply and Manufacturing – Control and manage the sku creation across the company
  • Switch: Coordinate and secure the switch management at sku level with all the different functions (GSC and Commercial) – coordinate the work between all teams to secure the ramp up
  • Rationalization: Lead and coordinate the rationalization process for Bic – Identify the products to rationalize from a Supply Chain and Business performance perspective and drive the process across all the functions
  • Communicate efficiently at every levels of the organization about the PLM milestones
  • Be in full control and understanding of performance results and action plan
  • Facilitate teamwork and collaborative mindset across the different stakeholders
  • Build a strong credibility of PLM team to Top Management

Reduce & Manage Portfolio Complexity

  • Develop deep knowledges of the end to end portfolio complexity (from manufacturing to the distribution to our customers, including the packaging development)
  • Analyze and leverage the cost of the complexity or the portfolio within the end to end supply chain (cost of sku creation, cost of manufacturing, cost of distribution, impact on inventory and delivery performance)
  • Develop and promote the standardization of our products at global and regional level – define what is the good (driven by the market trend) and the bad complexity (driven by internal processes)
  • Lead and Develop changes allowing to manage the “good” complexity efficiently
  • Define the short and long term complexity reduction targets
  • Lead initiatives and actions at both factories and region levels allowing to decrease the complexity (actions on the tails, standardization of packaging, limit the proliferation
  • Put under control the sku creation by implementing relevant thresholds and implement gate processes to stop the uncontrolled proliferation

Build and grow the product data management systems & process:

  • Lead and secure the product item data into the different ERP across the organization (3 different ones)
  • Secure the quality of data into the systems (availability and accuracy)
  • Improve the product data creation lead time by creating and promoting new processes involving all stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finances, Supply Chain and IT)
  • Be part of global Master Data Management initiatives in close collaboration with IT
  • Develop the vision of your organization that will lead to better efficiency and optimized cost at global level

  • Advanced degree in supply chain, logistics
  • More than 15 years of Supply Chain or Operation experience including significant background in Product Life Cycle management in an industrial environment
  • A broad background across key international markets and will have experience working with a global leadership team
