Job Description

The Senior Risk Manager in the Regulatory and Risk Governance (RRG) position is a hands-on role supporting the RRG VP and Sr. Director implementing the global supervisory regulatory management and governance initiatives. The Sr. Manager will also work with the Sr. Director of U.S. supervisory management to ensure legal and regulatory obligations and expectations are met with our primary U.S. regulator. This position will report to the RRG Sr. Director of Governance and Global Supervisory and will be ideally based at Visa office in Foster City, California or Ashburn, Virginia.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • U.S. supervisory exams and reviews of Visa by U.S. regulators, the Federal Banking Agencies (FBA), also known as the Federal Financial Institutions Examinations Council (FFIEC)
  • Implementation of the Global Supervisory Engagement Model, including:
    • Reporting on global supervisory landscape, obligations, and engagements in coordination with RRG leaders and supervision leads in the regions
    • Management of metrics regarding trends and supervisory impact
    • Management of repository for information used to respond to regulatory inquiries or consultations
    • Presentations and reporting to management
  • Implementation and maintenance of the global supervisory RACI
  • Coordination with subject-matter experts to develop responses to inquiries from regulators
  • Development of communications, presentations, and training materials
  • Maintain documentation on regulatory requests supported and responses provided
  • Assist the RRG VP in governance matters related to Visa Technology Operations LLC
  • Additional Risk Governance projects and initiatives as needed

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhDPreferred Qualifications: 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) 7 or more years of relevant experience in at least one of the following functions: Regulatory Management, Corporate/Risk Governance, Internal Control Function, Compliance or Risk Management Experience working directly with, or supporting governance in technology, payments/banking or financial services regulators Analytical and problem-solving experience with a strong focus on quality assurance of output Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills – able to adapt and deliver for different audiences Great attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability, quality, accuracy, integrity and trust Able to advance multiple initiatives simultaneously Fluent in English (verbal and written). Working knowledge of other languages would be a plus. Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
