The Community Development intern will be responsible for providing administrative support to the business development, communications, and events teams. They will assist with the planning, organization, and execution of events and day to day activities and will be subject to a multitude of responsibilities and tasks. The intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the behind-the-scenes aspects of event production processes, communication, business administration, special events management and strategic partnerships. Work collaboratively with Community Development team on event planning, execution, and fulfillment of events.This position is Spanish Required.

Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed or scheduled

Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations

Problem solving and decision making skills

Handle daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of department activities

Setup, take down, and work events to facilitate their success

Update spreadsheets, databases, and inventories

Assist in scheduling and coordinating events and supplies

Completing general tasks from PR director or CD manager.

Desired QualificationsThe ability to speak Spanish

Detail oriented and organized

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

Ability to problem solve independently and in a team environment

Position Specific Additional Physical Requirements:Lifting 70-80 pounds (items include money machine, coolers, tables, and other miscellaneous equipment).

Extensive local travel, this is a driving position and a company vehicle is provided.

Adequate auto insurance for driving while conducting company business.

Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Scheduling will revolve around events and other business needs including weekends.

Physical Requirements:Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).

Sit for extended periods of time.

Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.

Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.

Reach keyboards.

Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
