Job Description

We are looking for an organized project lead to play a critical role in driver Alertus’ rapid growth. The Project Manager, Major Projects will be responsible for all project management activities related to major Alertus implementation projects.

This is a highly-collaborative, customer-facing role where being an organized, communicative critical thinker is key to a successful system deployment. Our ideal candidate has a strong, demonstrated understanding of project management processes, strategies, and methods as well as the ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders at various levels.

A Day in the Life:

  • Manage the deployment life-cycle of the Alertus solution from customer project planning, design, and development to testing, deployment, and evaluation
  • Define project schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress of deployment projects

  • Create and maintain action and issue logs as well as other project documentation

  • Control project scope with an effective change process

  • Provide customers, vendors, and internal teams project-related updates regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress on a consistent basis

  • Work cross functionally to identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks in order to meet project deadlines

  • Ensure project deliverables are consistent with technical architecture and standards

  • Identify and manage project risk(s)

  • Travel to customer site(s) to install system(s), troubleshoot, and train end-users

  • Create and implement training processes for members of the Implementation team

  • Define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for internal and external staff required for specific projects or initiatives

  • Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and run cost-benefit analyses to determine company purchase

  • Update and maintain all production technologies ensuring proper maintenance and installation

  • Measure project performance and gather feedback for continued improvement

  • Assist in the assessment, selection, and management of installation vendors

What You’ll Need:

  • BA/BS in technology-driven field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience in an IT project management role

  • Comfortability traveling 50% of the time

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

  • Experience using project management and ERP software to manage project delivery

  • Proven ability to drive projects to completion

  • Demonstrated experience in system(s) deployment

  • Ability to cultivate and nurture long-lasting relationships

  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising company talent

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to creatively problem solve

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
