Software Quality Testing Analyst

Software Quality Testing AnalystLocation: RemoteDuration: 4 monthsThe Quality Analyst performs tasks under a low level of supervision from QA Management on single/multiple moderate size projects. After analyzing project documentation (e.g., Business Requirements or Designs) used to create test cases, execute the test scenarios, and document the test results. The individual will participate in all phases of the project and will lead the activities of a QA team. At all times the individual will take the appropriate steps to ensure the delivery of a quality product. An increasing level of responsibility will be provided as a means to expand the individual's capabilities and skill set.RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.

Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.

Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.

Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.

Reviewing system requirements and technical design to understand what test cases can and should be automated, and what should be manually tested.

Develop and execute Test Plan, test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated).

Assist in the design of integrated automated test scripts.

Analyze project documentation and prepare detailed test cases (manual and automated).

Develop expert knowledge across multiple business applications.

Perform various forms of testing including performance, regression, integration, system and configuration testing.

Understanding a risk based test approach, and perform test planning activities, estimating tasks for moderate to large size/risk projects.

Administer, log and maintain defects in defect tracking system.

May facilitate User Acceptance Testing or participate in parallel testing.

Lead moderate size projects, work directly with project team members in a productive manner to ensure successful project completion.

Communicate relevant project information to the rest of the QA team participating on the project.

Recognize and adjust work schedule to changing priorities and deadlines.

Prepare Evaluation Summary Reports under minimal supervision of QA Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent experience.

6+ years of software testing experience

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred knowledge in using:

Microsoft Test Manager, CodedUI, Selenium, Test Complete or other test automation tools

Query tool skills - SQL, Toad, Ultra Edit, etc.

Strong knowledge and experience with the following testing techniques

Reviewing available documentation (e.g. requirement documents, use cases, design specifications, project plans and technical documents) in order to develop test plans, test cases and test scenarios (manual and/or automated)
