We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and capable leader!This group is responsible for providing M&P (materials and processes) support to Boeing Defense Systems development programs. We are also responsible for leading materials development efforts (typically non-metallic) as well as identifying, developing, transitioning, and producing specialty materials and technologies for platforms within Boeing Defense Systems. The work statement will allow you to lead the development of Materials and Processes Engineers and Technicians, execute on deliverables for multiple projects related to materials development, production maturization, and vertical materials production, and lead the operation of a 50,000sqft laboratory space. Projects and lab operations will require you to lead an integrated team.Ideal candidates will have the experience, abilities, and passion for composites, chemical/contamination, sub-systems, or low observable materials and processes, and have a desire to broaden their knowledge to become a leader in these integrated fields.Position Responsibilities:Lead a team of 15 to 17 Engineers and Technicians

Develop M&P Engineers and Technicians

Responsible for the execution and delivery of materials and processes solutions for BDS programs and external customers through the IRAD and CRAD process

Lead the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and producibility requirements are met

Apply knowledge of material design, analysis, and test in order to guide development, characterization, and qualification of proprietary materials for application to air vehicle products

Lead the development of engineering processes, methods, and tools

Lead operations in a 50,000sqft research and development facility producing materials and associated manufacturing and application processes

Make routine contact with customers, teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Ability to lead a multi-disciplined integrated product team, working alongside other skilled technicians, engineers, and support staff

Guide test development, routine analysis of failed parts and processes, generation of data to evaluate failed mechanisms and documentation of findings

Guide development and revision of documents and technical requirements

Lead continuous improvement efforts in design, fabrication, testing of new concepts and technology to include laboratory operations

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location above.This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related Engineering degree

2+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering team

2+ years of production or research and development experience in Materials, Processes, Fabrication, or Structures

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):2+ years of production or research and development experience in Materials related technologies

2+ years of experience with project/program management

Experience working with multiple stakeholders and creating partnerships to ensure proper support

Strong written and verbal skills with experience to effectively work within an Integrated Product Team environment

Experience leading in an environment of change and in support of multiple programs, internal and external customers, technical challenges, and deadlines
