Summary: Assist the Housekeeping manger in running the housekeeping and laundry operation of the hotel to ensure quality standards are met. Job Specifications (Qualifications)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED or related experience in the area of supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of general housecleaning and record keeping required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must speak fluent English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and review industry periodicals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to work in an atmosphere that is demanding, hot and requires varied physical actions.

Ability to be mature, neat in appearance, courteous, friendly, and know what to do or say in dealing with people.

Ability to work varied number of hours per week on a rotating basis.

Must display a high degree of pride and integrity in job performance.

Ability to learn and comprehend all company policies pertaining to his or her position and employment, including safety regulations and training.

Ability to possess high degree of confidentiality and the ability to work closely with the management team and team members.

Ability to plan and implement housekeeping programs and policies and to work and communicate both in writing and verbally to management and team members.

Ability to keep accurate and up-to-date records and maintain files.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises all housekeeping and laundry team members in the Housekeeping Managers absence

Plans and distributes the daily work assignments as needed.

Inspect all hotel rooms daily, to include morning inspections of unoccupied rooms and inspection of each room assigned after completion.

Assigns laundry attendants and house attendant duties or any special assignments that may be deemed necessary.

Educate and train all new team members in their job duties as well as local, state, and federal laws and safety.

Inspects the housekeeping team to determine if they are working as assigned and checks the quality and quantity of their work and ensure they are meeting budget times.

Conducts property walks in all areas of the hotel - rooms, public areas, store rooms, etc., especially places likely to be overlooked by team members when cleaning.

Assists Housekeeping manager with monthly linen and supply inventory

Will be required to clean rooms, do laundry and house attendant duties

Assists Housekeeping Manger in managing the lost and found department and is responsible for all lost and found items.

Coordinates with Maintenance on required repairs.

Other duties as assigned by Management
