Fireside Pizza is located in the heart of the Palisades Tahoe Village and has been in operation since 2002. We offer a family friendly atmosphere, serving gourmet pizza, pasta and salad, 11 microbrews on tap, an affordable wine list and Soju cocktails.

Assistant Kitchen Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists and participates in the day-to-day activities and functions of kitchen facilities, food items preparation, and production in assigned section and ensure that the standard performance is implemented and maintained according to the designated task

Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, preparing meat, or preparing sauces)

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

Clean up station and take care of leftover food

Stock inventory appropriately

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers

Assistant Kitchen Manager Required Skills:

Attention to Detail: Kitchen managers have to keep their eyes on a lot of elements: food standards, costs, safety, etc.

Leadership: Kitchen managers must be leaders in the back of the house, rallying their team during heavy shifts, resolving conflicts, and getting the job done

Management Skills: Kitchen managers not only deal with food, but they also have to deal with costs, pricing, creating work schedules, and more

Organizational Skills: Keeping work schedules, shipments, cleaning schedules, and more organized is crucial to the job

Problem-Solving Skills: Being able to come up with a solution quickly is a needed skill

Speaking Skills: Kitchen managers need to accurately and easily communicate standards and cooking methods to staff, give orders, and speak with staff clearly

Stamina: Kitchen managers can expect long days around hot cooking elements, much of it on their feet. Be able to lift 50lbs
