Greens Keeper

Definition:

The Greens Keeper, under the direct supervision of the Superintendent performs routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; this includes the operation of hand tools, small hand powered equipment and light motorized equipment as necessary.

Typical Functions:

The Greens Keeper:

Operates mowers, back pack blowers and string trimmers in the maintenance of turf areas, parking lots and sidewalks; Rakes and maintains sand bunkers; maintains water coolers by cleaning and filling.

Performs regular maintenance of annual and perennial planting beds.

Maintains fuel levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.

Assists in the construction and repair of turf areas.

Excavates and back fills ditches and trenches with hand tools as needed in the repair of irrigation components.

Uses hand tools in the removal of snow from sidewalks and parking lot areas as needed.

Performs other golf course maintenance related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.

Employment Standards:

Requires knowledge of methods and materials used in landscape maintenance, construction work; working knowledge of and ability to use hand tools; ability to operate light motorized equipment.

Requires physical strength (lifting over 75 lbs), stamina and agility.

Requires the ability to follow oral and written directions.

Requires a valid drivers license
