Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect with our client in the financial industry in their New York, NY location. This is a 7 month + contract position. Responsibilities:

• Member of Futures and Options Operations IT group providing support to our business clients
• The candidate will provide technical analysis, development and support of the in-house developed Java applications as well as peripheral development around vendor applications, Prysm, Clearvision, and Consensys as needed
• The role is to develop, test, implement and support based off design documents or ad-hoc needs based on the project scope
• The successful candidate will perform the role of a developer based in New York / Jersey City but deliveries are global in nature
• Work with the Project Manager/Business analyst, architects and other team members to design solutions of the projects undertaken
• Participate in and work on all aspects of the technical design & specification phase of projects
• Ensure solutions are defined for all requirements, solutions are agreed to by the business line and other IT teams, options are provided for large or complicated changes and all functional design is documented and delivered to an exceptional quality and is consistent across deliveries
• Provide subject matter expertise to support development & testing of project deliverables and validation of quality assurance
• Ensure business engineering standards are applied by all parties involved in projects and deliveries
• Participate in initiatives to improve standard business engineering practice

Requirements:

• Experienced IT developer (at least 5 years)
• Self-driven, confident, strategic but pragmatic, good communicator and team player
• Knowledge of full development lifecycle, data analysis and structured analysis and design methods
• Strong technical skills, including technical specification writing
• Ability to work without close supervision, yet to rigid timescales
• Dynamic, pro-active mentality
• Strong technical background
• Distributed system development and maintenance
• Experience of test planning and test script design
• Fault tracking methods
• Required technologies:
  • Java, Angular JS, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat
  • MQ, FTP, XML, FIX
  • Oracle, JDBC, SQL
  • Linux
• Nice to have technologies:
  • Autosys, Python
• Desirable:
  • Understanding of Investment Banking.
  • Clearvision, GMI, Pyrsm, SEALS vendor application knowledge
• Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no Corp-to-Corp)
