Job Description

• Provide meaningful and hands-on clinical and administrative oversight of an ATI for people living with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Provide culturally competent oversight, supervision, and management in accordance with CASES’ policies for equity and social justice and serve as a leading voice in the continuing enhancement of these policies.
• Develop and implement effective standards for program services based the Short-Term Assessment of Risk and Treatability (START) assessment of participant strength and vulnerability factors related to multiple risks.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with criminal justice stakeholders (judges, defense bar, prosecutors, court clerks, corrections, etc.) and provide advocacy, training, and education to these stakeholders while learning from their input to update operations and ensure program quality assurance.
• Promote the delivery of excellent services including to address racial and economic disparities and related systemic as well as context-specific challenges of court-based practice, enhancing the effectiveness of staff advocacy, screening, and assessment to address criminal stakeholder concerns and promote program access and effectiveness.
• Oversee the integration of structured violence risk assessment and risk management treatment planning to promote effective treatment responses to reduce ongoing risk for violence.
• Lead the development of integrated practice aligning the best of mental health treatment, integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders, primary care-integrated practice, gender-responsive services, and evidence-based DBT-informed and CBT as standard ATI practice.
• Work with the DBT expert consultant delivering multiyear Comprehensive Clinical Dialectal Behavioral Treatment (CCDBT) training to program staff and supervisors, assuming role on CCDBT Implementation Team and as a Practice Lead.
• Supervise the use of the electronic charting in the Salesforce and electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with program standards and confidentiality regulations.
• Collaborate with Director of ATI Implementation and Fidelity to define implementation, process, and outcome measures to assess “what works” and continuously monitor program performance against the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) and NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) performance indicators and quality measures.
• Stay up to date with court operations, NYC criminal justice reform, Medicaid and healthcare reforms, and evidence-based and recovery-oriented services to guide program practice.
• Identify ongoing and new training and education needs of NCS staff and collaborate with the Director of Clinical Training on implementation plan.
• Utilize and value participant and family member/significant other input to inform, revise, and shape program operations.
• Assist in the annual budget cycle and the development of program budgets.
• Set expectations in detail, provide team leaders with feedback in “real time,” and maintain accountability and promote professional growth through performance reviews and annual evaluations, outcome measurement, and professional development plans consistent with CASES’ policies.
• Other duties as required by the Senior Director and Executive Team.

Qualifications

• PsyD,PhD, LCSW or LMHCprefer PsyD or PhD with forensic training
• 3+ years of leadership experience in mental health and/or criminal justice with a verifiable track record of achievement in managing multiple programs
• LCSW and LMHC candidates require 5+ years of experience with comprehensive clinical assessment and experience with clinical supervision
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Highly developed management, analytical, and motivational skills
• Excellent written, oral, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Track record of delivering sustained high-quality treatment services
• Ability to work effectively with diverse team and remain highly organized
• Proficient in computers and electronic databases, preferably Salesforce
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
