What We're Looking ForResponsible for the leadership and management of team in support of the project’s profitable operation. Responsible for proactively managing the projects technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project. Responsible for gross revenue of $10M-30M. Additional responsibilities as assigned may include: Managerial responsibility for assigned aspects of the projects including scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and cash management. Actively manage assigned client’s budget, schedule and program; HNTB budget and schedule; project communications and documentation. Satisfies client requirements. Administers relevant aspects of a formal quality control program. Coordinates work efforts and reviews work performed and all project plans. Responsible for managing and delivering quality civil / rail transportation projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client. Identifies and markets additional business opportunities with key Rail /High Speed Rail clients.This is a Part-time position.Primary Focus Will Include:Rail, Civil, and Facilities Design

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:PE New York State and/or New Jersey

Understanding of Public Infrastructure and Construction Phasing/Staging

SOGR and Replacement of Rail, Civil, and Facilities Infrastructure

Hands-On knowledge of Design-Build and working with Contractors and Force Account Construction

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related discipline

15 to 20+ years of experience in the design, management, planning and implementation of rail, civil, and facilities projects.

Experience managing successful, large projects is required

Working / technical knowledge of rail systems (Track, Signal, Power, OCS, structures)

Working knowledge of railway operations / infrastructure is preferred

Experience with MTA New York City Transit, Metro-North Railroad, Long Island Railroad, Amtrak, New York State DOT, and/or New Jersey Transit, is preferred.

Excellent communications skills and work ethic required and the ability to participate in meetings and provide answers to the client a must.

What You'll NeedEssential Responsibilities:Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.

Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.

Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.

Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.

Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

16 years relevant experience

6 years project management experience
