DescriptionAccountemps has partnered with a growing company who has an opening for a Payroll Clerk who will be responsible for supporting the Payroll department in a variety of duties. This role is based in the Rochester, New York area. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to work with an industry leader on a career path with growth in this challenging position. The company is seeking a dynamic candidate to enhance the team's efficiency by being able to communicate effectively with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's job duties consist of data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The Payroll Clerk position is looking to be filled on a long-term temporary-to-full-time employment contract.What you get to do every day
File, scan, fax, and perform other clerical duties as required
Contact employees via email and phone to obtain timesheet approvals
Administer and distribute reports as instructed
Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Build and run custom reports
Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Requirements
Prior Payroll software experience preferred
Proven ability to quickly learn new systems
Strong familiarity with Background Checks
Checking References experience
Conduct Reference Checks experience
Solid understanding of Weekly Payroll
Knowledge of payroll systems for 100-500 employees
Previous payroll experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
