Robotic Deployment Engineer (ROS, Mapping) U.S.

Job Description

Locus Robotics is seeking Deployment Engineers to collaborate with a talented team for on-site deployments of our LocusEmpower robotics solutions at customer sites. This job requires a unique combination of warehouse logistics, site mappingexperience,end user and site management training ability, team leadership, customer relationship management and effective internal and external communication. You will travel extensively (>75%), with all expenses paid, nation-wide in the U.S and Canada.Remote home officefor qualified candidates is available. Residing near major airports is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the deployment of complex robotic order fulfilment solution including robotic hardware, software and servers at customer locations.
  • Prepare customer sites for deployments of the Locus solution, deploy and test the solution, train the user groups, and support production use of the system until customer acceptance is achieved
  • Mapping customer sites to create a virtual world for the robots, validating that map, and editing as needed
  • Ensure smooth implementation of the robots on-site working with other Deployment Tech’s and Deployment Engineers.
  • Assist with on-site infrastructure, robot and software set-up and support during initial system deployment of LocusEmpower, our proprietary e-commerce fulfillment solution.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the Locus solution while onsite implementing the solution.
  • Work directly with LocusEmpower engineering teams to implement the Locus system at customer sites.
  • Ensure the smooth operations of the robots on-site by working hand-in-hand with customers after deployment.

Qualifications

  • Desire to be a hands-on problem solver who is passionate about getting the job done
  • Strong electromechanical skills, knowledge of IT networking infrastructure
  • Excels in a customer environment, able to represent and evangelize Locus robotics in customer interactions.
  • Experience with ROS desirable (Robotic Operating System)
  • Warehouse software or logistics systems experience.
  • Experience in warehouse/fulfillment center mapping a plus
  • Demonstrated success working both as team member and leader.
  • Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently and in customer settings
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.
  • Knowledge of and interest in diverse technical topics, including software, hardware and robotics.
  • >75% travel is required with this role.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS or a related technical field.
