Thank you for considering a career at Mercy HealthGeneral SummaryThe Laboratory Client Services Associate greets physicians, patients and other visitors to the Laboratory. Other duties include patient registration, processing physician orders, processing patient reports and preparing reports for delivery. The Laboratory Client Service Associate answers the Laboratory telephones, appropriately redirects calls as necessary and calls results to physician offices according to protocol. Other duties are performed as assigned.Minimum Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMinimum of high school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of coursework in secretarial and office procedures/practices. Accurate typing speed of 30 wpm or higher required. Knowledge of Medical terminology preferred.One to three years previous secretarial experience, preference in providing support to multiple individuals.Familiarity with the use of a computer. Ability and willingness to learn multiple software applications including word processing and other laboratory related applications.Must possess strong communication skills.Must be able to demonstrate prioritization skills and to work independently with limited direct supervision.Working ConditionsWorks with potential exposure to infectious diseases such as Hepatitis or HIV, caustic agents, needle punctures and other hazards; intermittent exposure to odors or fumes; works in ventilated and well lighted areas.Reporting RelationshipsReports to the assigned Coordinator/Laboratory Manager/Director.Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.We’ll also reward your hard work with:Comprehensive, affordable medical, dental and vision plans
