We are seeking a part-time bookkeeper to help further our mission. This position will start at 20 hours a week and can work up to full-time. Compensation is $17/hour.
Bookkeeper job duties include working closely with Executive Co-directors, Board Treasurer, and development team to create financial reports for multiple projects, process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices, track grant/contract dates and reporting requirements, process payroll, and accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of the organization.
Responsibilities may include:
Recording day to day financial transactions and completing the posting process
Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
Assist with data tracking across projects
Process payroll every two weeks
Position requirements
Proven bookkeeping experience
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Quickbooks
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
High degree of flexibility in a multi-faceted and changing work environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Sense of humor
Preferred qualifications
Interest in contributing your skills to help improve the lives of unhoused people
Current or previous lived experience with homelessness
Spanish fluency a plus
