POSITION DESCRIPTION:

7th Gen Farms is an industrial hemp cultivator based in Central Point, OR that is wholly owned by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians. K Bar Ranches assists in the cultivation and post-processing of hemp through contract with 7th Gen Farms. The Hemp Production Manager will assist the K Bar Ranch South Foreman in best cultivation practices as well as oversee all aspects of hemp material processing from harvest to sale.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Hemp Production Manager plays a key role in overseeing the cultivation and post-processing of hemp material grown by and on behalf of 7th Gen Farms. This begins at cultivation and continues through harvest, drying, bucking and trimming until the product is finally sold to a processor or handler. These duties include but are not limited to overseeing various contractors and farm labor crews to assist in the process functions. Other duties comprise of maintaining proper inventory controls of hemp material, maintaining a customer sales database, and coordinating the shipping of orders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manage production staff and contractors who assist in the cultivation and further processing of hemp material.

Coordinate daily schedules of staff and contractors. Train staff where it is needed.

Understand and maintain compliance of Tribal and State regulations.

Maintain inventory and customer databases.

Purchase and maintain inventories of supplies needed for hemp production.

Planting, cultivating, irrigating, and harvesting industrial hemp.

Operating processing machinery following training and safety protocol.

Sorting, weighing and packaging material based on customer demands.

Work long shifts, nights and weekends.

Other duties as assigned.

Maintaining positive company culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.

Post high school education preferred.

3+ years’ experience overseeing labor crews.

Work with limited supervision.

Ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.

Be adaptable, punctual and have a motivated attitude.

Must be able to work long hours and have a flexible schedule.

Have reliable transportation.

Able to learn and follow all company operating procedures.

Basic math skills required.

Able to handle multiple priorities and tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.

Current Oregon Driver’s License required with the ability to qualify for the UIDC’s Drivers Program.

Commercial driver’s license or farm endorsement proffered.
