Posted Job TitlePayroll and Accounts Payable Clerk - Ryan Hospital (Hybrid Eligible)Job Profile Title Accounting ClerkJob Description SummaryThe Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk plays a critical role in the day-to-day payroll operations for the Ryan Hospital and assists with Accounts Payable efforts on an on-going basis. The primary responsibilities of the role include payroll processing, payroll analysis/reporting for the Ryan Hospital and additional operating units where necessary.Job Description This position has administrative responsibilities of on-boarding and off-boarding staff, maintaining position control rosters, processing payroll adjustments, providing guidance/assistance to managers for payroll processes, and addressing and/or triaging employee issues related to payroll. In addition to payroll responsibilities, the role will assist with procurement and accounts payable efforts. An individual in this role possesses a strong attention to detail and displays a willing initiative to proactively identify and address potential issues within their purview to ensure financial stewardship of Ryan Hospital resources. Additionally, an individual in this position will be flexible to accommodate various ad hoc duties as they are assigned, completing them accurately and in a timely manner.Additional responsibilities include:Process payroll for Ryan Hospital, including one-time payments and posting adjusting entries.

Independently develop and routinely (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) publish payroll reports and reconciliations, identifying opportunities for improvement when possible

Acts as a liaison, where necessary, between employees and school/university level payroll departments to address payroll issues, representing Ryan Hospital as the point of contact for payroll matters

Onboards new staff and processes termination of exiting staff, collects/distributes required paperwork and processes within the Workday payroll system

Maintain the Ryan Hospital Position Control Roster

Perform additional payroll duties as assigned, including but not limited to, ad hoc reporting

Assist in payroll processing and similar duties for other Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (VHUP) departments when necessary

Assists with Accounts Payable processes

Assist in budget planning, providing salary information and entering budgets in the General Ledger

In the event that time clocks are implemented, this position will have administrative oversight of time clocks, including ensuring staff are entered in to the time clock system and that all time clock reporting is accurate

QualificationsHigh School Diploma and 2-3 years of experience in payroll or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. An Associate’s Degree in Accounting or similar discipline is highly preferred. Experience in Workday is highly desirable. Additional certifications in payroll management are also highly desirable. A cover letter is required.Budgeted Pay Range $18.00/hr - $26.25/hr commensurate with education and experience Job Location - City, State Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaHybrid Eligible - This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with a work week divided between working onsite and working remotely.
