OverviewCardiovascular Invasive Technologist (Registered), Heart Cath LabPRN/OCC, Day ShiftPosition Summary:Provide assistance to the cardiologist or cardiac surgeon in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures, measuring cardiovascular parameters such as cardiac output, blood flow velocity, cardiovascular dynamics, cardiac electrophysiology parameters, intracardiac shunt detection, valve flow/valve area determinations, intracardiac pressure measurements, oximetry determination, cineangiocardiography, and the measurement and calculation of cardiac function indices. The technologist assists in all phases of catheterization procedure including insertion of the catheter, operation of various electronic instruments and calculation of hemodynamic data.Minimum Education:None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience:Three (3) years experience performing invasive cardiac catheterization proceduresLicensure Requirement:Must hold current registration as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), NASPExAM AP/EP, or ARRT preferably with a Cardiovascular-Interventional Technology (CV) category designation. Current ACLS certification.
