PART TIME FIELD REPRESENTATIVES

On behalf of RTI International, we are currently seeking Part-Time Field Representatives to work on a government sponsored research study. Field Representatives will work on the 3rd wave of data collection for the SEED OK Study which focuses on seed money to help start saving for children's future. FR's are going into the field to try to collect information for those who have not responded to original call center reach outs, will contact and trace non-respondents depending on how well production goes.

POSITION TYPE:

The position is part-time, offering roughly 20-25 non-travel work hours per week between mid-March 2020 – April 2020. We are interested in individuals who can work a flexible schedule. This would include primarily weekday evening and weekend hours (Saturday after 10 AM and Sunday after 2 PM) and weekday evenings (4–8 PM). Some daytime hours will be required as well. You would also be expected to contact/locate selected respondents between Saturday and Sunday. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

FIELD REPRESENTATIVES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

Making in-person contact with previously interviewed respondents

Locating hard-to-find respondents by following up on leads and generating new leads

Accurately completing all project documents and reports, while adhering to project deadlines

Transmitting a project-issued tablet via Wi-Fi each day you work

Demonstrating the ability to work with your supervisor, completing assignments on schedule, and keeping your supervisor informed of problem areas that might affect progress

Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of the project-issued tablet and other items

Returning all equipment in a timely manner upon completion of assignment

Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of progress in the field

Transmitting data to RTI each morning and evening that you work

Submitting timely and accurate time and expense reports

Remaining available for possible overnight travel

Completing and sending nightly reports to your FM to keep her apprised of your daily progress

Preferred access to laptop/desktop computer to more easily and accurately complete a weekly time and expense report, in order to be paid on a timely manner

Required to contact reluctant respondents and attempt to address and convert refusals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate with 1 year of related to experience in interviewing

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age by the first date of employment

Reliable, personal automobile available for business use along with a registered Driver’s license and auto insurance

Effectively communicate through speech and listening

Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking

Willingness to work in different types of neighborhoods and homes

In-person completion of household contacting and locating of selected sampled adults

Password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities

Regular access to a telephone to use in attending conference calls with supervisors and managers and in contacting respondents to encourage study participation and schedule appointments

Able to keep project information private and all data confidential

Available to spend at least 4 consecutive hours of “production time” (not counting travel time) contacting/locating sampled households during each visit to the field, as caseload allows

Work frequently in respondent locations in urban, inner-city, and rural areas and making unexpected home visits to locate study participants and convince them to call RTI to complete the phone interview

Be outside and exposed to all types of weather

Stand, walk, and climb stairs

Communicate through speech and listening

Transport equipment and materials, such as a tablet computer, weighing 5 pounds or less

REQUIRED TRAINING:

Attend and successfully complete a mandatory, remote training, conducted online and by phone

Completion of online training of RTI-required topics, such as Introduction to Field Interviewing, Timesheet and Expense Report Completion, and Privacy and Confidentiality (as applicable)

Read and study your FR Manual and complete the home study before attending training
