About the Opportunity The Supervision, Regulation, and Credit (SRC) Department's Strategic Advisory Group has an immediate opening for a Technical Advisor reporting to the manager of Strategy and Innovation Team. As part of the Strategy and Innovation Team, you will plan, develop, and execute innovation projects leveraging emerging technologies to support the SRC business. Besides helping to develop and build tools utilizing emerging technologies, you will also serve as a coordinator, integrator, and facilitator between other business lines to ensure that the innovative solutions align with business use cases and needs. What You Will Do:

  • Translate innovation insights and areas of opportunities from business line leaders into clearly defined, actionable innovation projects.
  • Support the department innovation portfolio, including the pipeline of initiatives from concept and development through disposition into a production environment.
  • Partner with stakeholders to lead and manage innovation activities in the department helping facilitate ideation, design, and execution of innovation projects.
  • Collaborate with peers to research and evaluate emerging technology, serving as an advocate, educator, and integrator for innovation solutions
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to help define and shape the Supervision technological innovation vision and influence the department's strategic objectives.
  • Advocate across the organization to help define, shape, and explain the Supervision technological innovation vision and clearly articulates its impact on the department's strategic objectives.
  • Learn, analyze, and identify emerging technology deployed internally and externally to the System to develop use cases for SRC.
  • Ability to assess business impact of innovative concepts and articulate to stakeholder at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors' degree in, business, economics, computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • Broad knowledge of emerging technology and experience utilizing these technologies to create business value.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience developing, implementing, and managing innovation activities preferred
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, designing, and implementing functions that deliver new business capabilities to an organization.
  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to convey complex issues to a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation, and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills a must.
  • Role requires high levels of initiative and willingness to take ownership of issues; must be a self-starter and a catalyst for change.
  • Exceptional ability to independently drive results with a strong sense of initiative and accountability for delivery.

Other Requirements and Considerations:
  • An applicant posting for employment as a Federal Reserve examiner/analyst or hold a permanent residence visa/ and be an intending citizen.
  • Under conflict of interest guidelines administered by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, examining personnel may not participate on an examination of a financial institution or affiliate if the examiner was employed by the financial institution or affiliate within the past 12 months.

  • FRB ethics rules generally prohibit employees and their immediate families from owning investments in banks, savings associations or their holding companies (Section 5.3). Additionally, employees engaged in Supervision and Regulation may be subject to borrowing and deposit restrictions. These employees may need to recuse themselves from certain supervisory work based on:
    • Their borrowing relationships (Appendix B Parts I.1, II.1 and II.2)
    • If a financial institution employs a member of the employee's immediate family (i.e. spouse, child, parent, or sibling) (Appendix B Part I.3 and Part II.3)
    • If the individual was employed by the financial institution or affiliate within the past 12 months (Appendix B Part I.3 and II.3).
  • Selected candidate is subject to special background check procedures.
