Soundview has openings on our essential support teams

Soundview Supported Living is an agency that supports adults with a broad range of intellectual and other challenges, in Mount Vernon.

Soundview Group Home, in Stanwood, has a slightly narrower focus with clients needing more physical support, but otherwise the descriptions are the same.

Or staff are driven to support our clients in a broad range of ways, from basic caregiving tasks like showers or cooking, to helping someone study for their driving test. You might help one client plan for a trip or make better shopping choices. Another client might need new crafting ideas.

If you have a genuine drive to help others and the ability to deal with the various crises as they arise, then this job may be for you.

Our staff work in or from one location in shifts. All shifts are 8 hours or more. Most of our clients get 24-hour support. Because of the in-depth nature of the job, we do not hire staff for less than 24 hours a week.

Current needs involve mostly swing shifts and overnight shifts, but initial training involves several weeks’ worth of day shifts.

We don’t get many applications. Some think the job would be too hard, others think we must get a lot of applicants.

Honestly, the job is not hard IF you have the heart required for it, and the ability to understand how to do it right.

All training is paid for and done while on the clock. Training generally takes months to complete, unless you have prior experience and certs.

You must have:

A high school diploma or GED.

A valid driver’s license.

No criminal record that would disqualify you (extensive checks are done).

The ability to run, lift, support clients struggling to stand or walk, etc.
