The purpose of the Data Engineer role is to design and implement data models that maintain data integrity by staying informed of the ways the data is used within the organization and its information systems. The Data Engineer must be highly experienced in the analytics environment, so that they possess a strong foundation to be able to understand as well as create models that meet business requirements.

The Data Engineer must be highly experienced in the analytics environment, so that they possess a strong foundation to be able to understand as well as create models that meet business requirements.Making an Impact Working with business leaders, business analysts and web architects to define a strategy to implement long-term vision for the Production system application data and a strategy to implement that vision Defining, documenting, and enforcing the use of standards, policies and procedures for use by the team, including naming conventions, estimating guidelines, review and promotion procedures, security and user/role access, etc. Understanding of a phased project approach and the ability to identify the tasks, timelines, and interdependencies with other team’s tasks to complete the project on-time and in budget Creating and maintaining the conceptual (logical) and physical data models Facilitating meetings and communicationso with the business to define business requirements, to gain consensus/approval, and to communicate statuso within the project team to ensure a common understanding, drive decisions, and promote cohesiono with other Data & Analytics functional teams to foster a collaborative work environment and drive issues to resolution Leverage Production Database expertise to produce analytics platform data structures to be consumed in Data modelling, Dashboards, Analytics & stakeholder needs Workflow design to create scalable data solutions in a automated / scheduled manner Monitor Live Data transformation workflows to ensure content availabilitySharing Expertise Participating in Production system development review sessions Influencing through functional knowledge/solution options. Leads workflow, influences team & customers to ensure they’re aligned on timing and approach Responsible for recommending ways to continually improve own workflow, the department workflow, and delivery of solutions for the customers of the functional area. Responsible for bringing issues to management and presenting options for solutions. Acts as an escalation point to resolving problems and conflicts where necessary, ensuring alternate points of view are taken into account and problems are brought to management where necessary with pros and cons of the various options identified, as well as a recommendation where feasible.Gaining Exposure Partnering with leaders across NA to understand their unique and shared areas of focus from a D&A perspective Sharing D&A perspective on how to solve or approach gaps that aren’t yet identified by leaders, identify alternatives and provide recommendations to address proactivelyYour Typical Day Defining and documenting overall data architecture, infrastructure, and performance requirements and working with the DBA to implement itRequired Bachelor’s degree 2 years working in an analytics or IT environment or specialized Bachelor’s degree in data modeling or similar focusNice to Have Experience with conceptual data modeling methodologies, and the development of architectures supporting web-based applicationsWe are open to both local and out of state candidates for this position.If local (within 50 miles of Milwaukee, WI) this position is based in our Global Headquarters located in downtown Milwaukee.
