Milwaukee Repertory Theater is currently seeking applicants for a Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician. Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Facilities Maintenance Tech will play an integral role in the behind the scenes workings of an active LORT regional theater and provide them with the opportunity to interact with arts administration professionals, performers, designers, production crew, and many others! This is an excellent opportunity for students seeking experience in the performing arts/theater industry and/or historic building systems and maintenance, retirees, or those looking to supplement their income.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

Basic mechanical duties including minor repairs, facilities maintenance, snow shoveling and grounds upkeep, and operating building automation systems.

Schedule, Compensation and Benefits:

Approximately 16-20 hours per week. Hours will vary and can be flexible to suit your needs during 1st shift, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm, with periodic weekend coverage or evening fill in.

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. Basic mechanical and computer skills

3. Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to the duration of a shift

4. Ability to lift 50 pounds (unassisted) as well as work on ladders

5. Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner and apply newly learned skills quickly

6. Ability to communicate effectively across a diverse audience of staff and patrons all while exhibiting grace and good humor under pressure

7. Valid drivers license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
