Job Summary:

A Journeyman Carpenter must be able to understand the materials and procedures for advanced building techniques and perform all carpentry work necessary for custom residential construction from breaking ground to punch list completion. A Journeyman Carpenter must be capable of leading and developing a crew of Apprentice Carpenters and Carpenter’s Helpers. They must have the skills and knowledge to operate all hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.

Essential Job Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred

Experience:

o Minimum 5 years full time carpentry construction experience required and minimum 2+ years in high end custom residential carpentry preferred

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

Journeyman Carpentry Skills: Perform advanced layout and be competent in performing all facets of construction from frame to finish carpentry including, hand framed roofs, stairs, log and timber work and windows and doors. Be competent in performing concrete, architectural and structural steel erection and install, thermal and moisture installations, cabinetry, drywall and finishes. Understand and perform all phases of construction in the most efficient way. Able to read blueprints and cross reference schedules and details to find all needed information.

Strength, Stamina, Hand Eye Coordination, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving Skills, Mathematics/Geometry, Mechanically Inclined, Organizational Skills.

Transportation: Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
