Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of construction experience with at least five in supervisory roles.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Google Suite.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities Include:

Strategic:

  • Create and maintain a culture of safety, quality and accountability for all team members
  • Lead and develop direct reports (according to the LightEdison Organizational Chart)
  • Demonstrating a willingness and proactiveness in training and grooming new and future employees.
  • Lead strategy development and framework for self-performance vs. subcontract labor
  • Plan and document team member requirements and collaborate with HR to ensure staffing levels are appropriate to meet project execution requirements.
  • Manage and report upon scope, schedule and budget status and outcomes of all projects
  • Execute projects to agree upon scope, schedule and budget requirements
  • Ensure our clients definitely want to work with us on additional projects
  • Develop pathways for team member development and organizational ascension
  • Lead or assist direct reports in establishing strategic subcontractor relationships
  • Getting data from construction cycle that needs to go back into estimating, daily reporting, detailed line by line budgeting and invoicing
  • Continuously update and improve LightEdison Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Lead with a professional attitude and demeanor

Tactical:

  • Oversee project progress and be responsible for any delays, emergencies or problems that arise.
  • Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements.
  • Report project progress and budget to client.
  • Explain contract and technical matters to others in a clear manner.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates along with work timetables.
  • Iterate project specifications as needed to achieve customer objectives.
  • Collaborate with site personnel, installers and/or consultants to ensure the project can be completed using the estimated scope, schedule and budget.
  • Generate a preliminary project schedule.
  • Work with LightEdison suppliers.
  • Select and generate final deliverables that meet customer requirements.
  • Review construction plans as needed and perform plan take-offs when required.
  • Collaborate with the project management and accounting teams prior to execution of a contract to explain all budgets and assumptions made during the estimating process.
  • Coordinate team collaborate with engineers, architects and other workers on the same project.
  • Choose subcontractors and delegate their responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to establish project design.
  • Develop project proposals, budgets and timelines.
  • Able to interpret construction methods, contracts and drawings.
  • Select the most efficient and cost effective vendors.
  • Oversee construction to ensure production meets deadlines and budget guidelines.
  • Document status updates, change orders and process reports for management.
  • Review the closing of each project to ensure structures meet client specifications.
  • Constant contact with team members, inspectors and owners.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Able to listen and speak in a clear and concise manner so that projects are clearly understood.
  • Leadership skills in a managerial role and ability to delegate tasks.
  • Time management skills in order to meet milestones and project timelines and project deadlines.
