Sr. Manager Test Engineering

Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting highly qualified candidates, whose background and career goals meet our needs, for the following position in our Huntsville, AL facility. Please note that due to our Department of Defense contract requirements, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED Development Test Engineering Sr. Manager Job Purpose: Manages the planning, development, and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of standard and special devices. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training , development, and performance management of the staff. Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for changes required in testing equipment procedures, test processes, new testing requirements and/or design of testing equipment. Recommends the purchase of test equipment. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides day to day direction, coordination and management of test development efforts and personnel activities.
• Develops, implements and coordinates policies, programs and procedures for assigned personnel.
• Continuously evolve technical road map for standardized test solution
• Coordinate schedules, recommend and manage improvements to reduce cost and increase efficiencies for multiple technical development projects
• Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership, development and training as required
• Attend daily/weekly staff meetings and provide input regarding required department measurements
• Implement employee development/involvement programs to develop a qualified technical staff.
• Effectively communicate status to Management
• Develop cost proposals for technical development efforts for test equipment and test engineering services
• Perform miscellaneous requests, duties, corrective actions/change, quality and special projects as required by upper management.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Management
• Experience in Test Engineering or Technical Project Management is required; Prefer 15+ years of technical project/test engineering experience with 5+ years of direct management or supervision
• Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner; Effective verbal and written communicate skills with customers, management and staff
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion; Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. Communicate honestly with all customers and provide solutions to problems in a timely manner
• Regular and on-time attendance; Hours may exceed 40 hours per week. Occasional travel may be required
• Projects a positive business image, leads by example, is a team player
• Works under minimal guidance/direction
• Capable of acquiring a security clearance
