Our relationships range from directly with the U.S. Department of Defense to major defense and aerospace companies as well as commercial original equipment manufacturers.NATURE OF WORK:Seeking a senior software engineering manager, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, to run the software development group for embedded systems development and maintenance. The selected candidate will be responsible for building and leading a team of engineers for designing, developing, implementing, integrating, testing, qualifying, and maintaining the embedded software on a wide range of military avionics and tactical communications systems. The individual will be empowered to promote a culture of teamwork across all technical disciplines, and will be responsible for managing staffing allocation to, and successful completion of, dozens of simultaneous projects. The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader to the team with added focus on fostering career development and professional growth of the entire software development staff.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- 12+ years of experience in embedded software with at least 5 years in a management role
- Recruiting, interviewing, and developing engineering staff
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage many simultaneous projects
- Software development process and lifecycle
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- C/C programming on bare-metal microcontrollers and microprocessors
- Analyzing and debugging system performance issues
- Hardware board bring-up experience
- Understanding of hard real-time systems and constraints
- Multicore / Multithreaded driver and application development
- Understanding of data coherency issues in a multiprocessing environment
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- BSCS or BSEE, advanced engineering degree preferred
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (no prior/existing clearance is required)
- Due to our US Government contracts, ship is required
- Experience with CMMI Level 2, 3, or 4
- Development experience with digital voice communication systems
- IAT Level II certification
- Software development on soft-core processors implemented in FPGAs
- Software development on DSPs
- Performance profiling, performance tuning in a multicore environment
- Experience designing and establishing software development processes
- Familiarity with DOORs
