Bluetooth Firmware Engineer
Vacancy expired!
- The Advanced Development team is looking for an embedded software/firmware engineer to work on creating the technology that will enable wireless connectivity in future generations of Audio Systems.
- This highly self-motivated engineer should be able to take on and independently lead multiple development tasks of variable duration.
- The tasks at hand focus on development of wireless radio software solutions.
- You will work closely together with your hardware counterpart in developing embedded circuitry and software.
- The development tasks relate to the implementation of software wireless stacks (such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) on wireless radio oriented processors.
- You will contribute to overall system architecture and requirements development.
- The engineer should be able to conceive, analyze and optimize software environments for wireless connectivity while using API’s and software stack provided by our silicon supply base as a starting point.
- Demonstrable experience with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi interfaces is required.
- It is also highly desired that the individual can demonstrate knowledge of general purpose processor architectures, such as ARM types.
- Included in the work is the influencing of general radio IC hardware and software development with key silicon suppliers.
- Initial work will the development of a Bluetooth radio interface using a Qualcomm processor environment and API as a basis element for a variety of new product ideas.
- Subsequent work will relate to more radio related work, but may also require the candidate to contribute to innovative software work unrelated to wireless radio, such as high speed communication bus interfaces, etc.
- The work involves occasional travel and carrying yourself well in front of a demanding customers.
- Experience Required:
- 5+ years’ experience in Bluetooth or Wi-Fi radio communication protocols
- Experience with the deployment of APIs from leading suppliers such as Qualcomm, Broadcom or equivalent
- Excellent object oriented design (OOD) and object oriented programming (OOP) skills using C/C
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl or Shell)
- Experience with embedded peripherals such as Ethernet, I2C, I2S, SPI, and USB
- Experience with an embedded RTOS such as Vector, KPIT, FreeRTOS or equivalent
- Experience with source code management (SCM) tools (Subversion, Git, etc.)
- Expertise with basic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, etc.)
- Knowledge and exposure to basic hardware design and can read a schematic
- Familiarity with Bluetooth and BTLE embedded communication stacks
- Familiarity with battery management and battery charging circuit software control
- Analyze complex technical problems and propose design of comprehensive solutions
- Contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, test coordination, release, support, and documentation.
