Responsibilities

Systems Engineering IIIThe primary objective of this Intelligence Community contract is to provide integration and closure; foundational system engineering processes; mission assurance; service management; Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE); & Verification, Validation and Transition (VV&T) systems engineering and technical support services to an Intelligence Community customer that will enable it to execute its responsibilities efficiently and effectively while ensuring mission success.The Engineer will provide support to analysis of programs and their test procedures. A detailed knowledge of satellites is not necessary as the engineer will be mentored and developed alongside senior systems engineers in the areas of satellite, subsystems, payloads, etc. technology. The candidate will apply skills in mathematical calculations and basic statistical analysis and be able to perform both with the tutelage of experienced engineers and independently with a proactive, self-starter work ethic. The candidate will assist in the preparation of progress reports and provide quality control translation support of information from artifacts to data entries.

Key Responsibilities Include:Fundamental Systems Engineering tasking and practices will apply, such as the following:
  • Ensure requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods.
  • Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements.
  • Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development.
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
  • Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
  • Possess an active TS/SCISecurity Clearance(Polygraph Prefered).
  • Possess skills in mathematical calculations and comfort with statistics.
  • Familiarity with basic physics, mechanics, electronics to understand satellite systems with training and instruction from senior experienced systems engineers.
  • Some spreadsheet skills are preferable.
  • General problem-solving skills and some small team coordination skills will be necessary.
  • Strong work ethic and can-do attitude with the ambition to develop under the mentorship of experienced engineers and grow into positions of increased scope and responsibility.

DESIRED:
  • Experience with GEOINT, SIGINT and/or COMM systems and overall Space and Ground Architecture.
  • Experience with core Systems Engineering Disciplines (Requirements, Schedule, Risk, Readiness, System Closure, VV&T, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the Intelligence Community and associated government agencies.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools.
Salary Minimum: $67,017.60 Salary Maximum:$143,291.20 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Perspecta's total compensation package for employees.
