Job Definition: A supervisory position that administers human resources policies, programs and practices that include, but not limited to, recruitment, benefits, payroll and various employee relation needs. These areas of focus will require all levels of involvement including planning, organizing, developing, implementing and coordination. This position also serves as contact for personnel and Company including but not limited to Unemployment, Worker’s Compensation, Payroll Tax/Reporting Administrator and EEO Specialist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains employees’ personnel files and support documents to comply with record retention regulations.

  • Administers all aspects of payroll including benefits, taxes, and other earnings and deductions. Reconciles and audits earnings and deductions. Meets deadlines for submissions of reports and payments (i.e. SUTA, FUTA, SIT 940, 941, IRS censuses, etc.)

  • Assists with renewals for company’s medicals insurance, 401(k), and benefits.

  • Conducts recruitment efforts through various medias. Maintains employee job descriptions. Conducts wage and salary surveys. Updates company organization charts.

  • Processes documentation for all new hires such as background screening, drug test screening, orientation schedules, and status change forms.

  • Conducts and manages interval employee evaluations.

  • Supervises one or more administrative assistants.

  • Compile and present current statuses in a weekly and monthly meeting format

  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures. Assists in preparing and maintaining company handbook on policies and procedures.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • General knowledge of the principals and practices of personnel administration

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and the general public

  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form

  • Be detail and results oriented, with multi-tasking ability

  • Ability and desire to learn and work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently with absolute delivery deadlines

  • Strong planning, communication and organizational skills

  • Strong computer skills such as Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook and internet

  • Sitting for 6+ hours and/or standing for 1+ hours

Minimum Requirements:

  • Will consider all levels of education and experience

  • Requires pre-employment background check and drug testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Human Resources

  • Supervisory or managerial experience

  • Payroll experience with ADP
