Organizational Overview:
Tuscarora’s mission is to serve the Christian community by providing programs and facilities for worship, teaching, counseling, and physical refreshment, focusing on the Bible as our standard for living.
Position Purpose:
The Group Account Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position which will play a crucial role as part of the group ministry team. This position will support the ministry by developing new partnerships and maintaining existing relationships with churches and parachurch organizations. The ideal individual for this position will be a creative thinker and strategist who is able to help Tuscarora develop a streamlined sales process.
This position reports directly to the Manager of Ministry Advancement and will work alongside the Group Ministry Team and the Group Services Coordinator.
Requirements:
1. Have a passion for the ministry of Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center OR experience in Christian camping
2. Extremely well developed communication skills to clearly convey the value of a retreat at Tuscarora and an ability to work with a wide variety of people
3. Well organized and able to maintain many individual relationships with potential groups
4. Experience in sales or customer service preferred
Responsibilities:
Drive sales to new church and para church inquiries, which includes but is not limited to:
Serve as primary contact and relationship cultivator for new group inquiries
Proactively seek out new opportunities for ministry growth
Schedule and serve as the lead for campus tours utilizing other staff when the need arises
Share the Tuscarora story at various conferences and exhibit tables
Answer phones, take accurate contact notes, and respond to requests for more information
Remain the primary contact for groups until a signed contract and deposit has been received and details are handed off to the Group Event Coordinator
Communicate group leader expectations with Group Ministry Team and other departments
Maintain accurate data on groups
Serve as an on-site group ministry event coordinator when required
Work with the marketing department to develop materials to enhance the guest experience and improve communications with groups.
