In Search Of:

Physician Collaborator for an experienced FNP engaged in providing transgender medical services for youth and adults, following the WPATH guidelines. Physician's scope of practice must align similarly with FNP's area of practice. For the purposes of transgender medicine, this can fall under the purview of many different types of physician specialties: Primary/Family practice, OBGYN, Pediatrics, and Endocrinology are a few examples.

Individual must have valid MS Medical License as an MD/DO, and their primary practice location can be located anywhere in the state of MS (although an extra application is needed for the Board of Medicine if the collaborator's main practice location is more than 75 miles away from the FNP's). Additional consideration: the board of medicine may change their collaborative requirements sometime next year to state that the collaborator must also be practicing within the state of MS at least 80 hours per month.

Duties will include:

1. Monthly chart review for quality purposes of 20 charts/visits per month (can be sent to physician as printed material or physician can be given access to the EHR for perusal electronically).

2. Face to Face meeting with FNP once per quarter.

3. Be available for consultation by phone if needed.

The collaborator will be added on as an extension to the FNP's malpractice policy. Collaborator will not be named in any clinic documents except where legally required for collaborative purposes, nor will they be mentioned in advertising. Pay is transacted promptly every month immediately after chart review.

-Rate is $300 per monthly 20-chart review, which increases to $500 on the quarterly months that include the Face to Face meeting.

-Additional pay available if the FNP requires phone contact for assistance with a case at a rate of $30 per case assisted with, no matter how small.

Physician may review CV and meet FNP prior to engaging in a collaborative relationship. The position is projected to be needed to start providing collaborative services in April 2021, but may begin earlier if an appropriate candidate is located before this.

We are looking for someone who is interested in helping this marginalized patient population by providing collaboration services so that the FNP has the legal authority to care for these patients. This is a cause near and dear to the hearts of those running the clinic. We are interested in someone who is committed to a long term collaborative partnership for this venture because we want to ensure uninterrupted care for these individuals. Please message us with any questions or concerns. Some things are negotiable, but others are legal requirements.
