Programmer Analyst

Description Robert Half Technology has joined forces with a company in the Legal industry to fill a Programmer Analyst role. They need a master of software and applications programming and industry requirements to create and define systems scope and objectives. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases. Apply now for this full-time Programmer Analyst position in Grand Rapids, Michigan.What you get to do every single day- Evaluates user requests for systems changes or improvements. Registers functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Recommends how, when and whether to make the changes- Reviews and documents code problems, working with other programmers to correct them- Build and assess programming changes for every phase of systems development prior to implementation. Record test cases and expected results. Ensure results meet requirements. May develop basic tests or a defined subset of a larger system test. May make suggestions regarding acceptance/rejection if not all requirements are met- Reviews methods of processing and recommends improvements- Provides end users and other partner groups with continuing training and assistance for a specific application, system or process- Collaborates on establishing communication materials for specific system changes being implemented in production- Provides guidance for internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting problems with programming. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education- Assembles and maintains dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst Requirements - General knowledge of mainframe hardware/software and PC operations required- Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements- Demonstrated grasp of programming languages- Strong communication and interpersonal skills- Microsoft SQL experience desired- Strong project planning and management tasks, business systems support functions and project costing techniques Robert Half Technology matches IT professionals with remote or on-site jobs on a temporary, project or full-time basis.
