Apprentice Lawn Sprinkler Installers / Irrigation Service Technicians

JETSTREAM, established in 1986, is an irrigation company that installs new sprinkler, lighting and drainage systems (residential and commercial). With over 2,000 established customers, our primary function is servicing existing sprinkler and lighting systems.

Currently we are seeking hard working, physically fit, career minded individuals to join our team. Given the nature of our industry, the work we perform is physical in nature and done outdoors in varying weather conditions. JETSTREAM employees are required to uphold the company’s 5 core values, be able to lift 60-80 lbs. unassisted and are required to possess a valid driver’s license with a Chauffeurs endorsement.

Given that we are located in Michigan, our business is seasonal. Typically our teams work full time schedules Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturdays, between April and November. When our workload is heavy, overtime is required. We execute snow removal in the winter, so there is opportunity for work during that time as well.

APPRENTICE LAWN SPRINKLER INSTALLER

In this position, individuals work alongside experienced professionals and learn a new trade for a rewarding career in the irrigation industry. Ideal candidates will have general labor experience and better still plumbing experience We will train those who do not have this experience that are motivated to learn and grow with the company.

In this position team members assist Senior Technicians and/or a job Foreman in various capacities to learn how to:

Dig and install sprinkler heads

Install sprinkler piping and drain tile

Use plastic fittings to connect sprinkler pipes and drain tile

Adjust sprinkler heads for proper throw

Properly clean job sites, trailer and trucks

The starting pay rate for our Apprentice Lawn Sprinkler Installers is $13 per hour. Overtime pay, performance pay and any other reliability incentives earned will increase the net hourly rate for this position.

IRRIGATION SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Individuals joining our team in this position typically come to us with a minimum of 3 years of experience in sprinkler installation and/or service.

In this position team members are responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Working closely with Apprentice Lawn Sprinkler Installers to complete assigned work orders at the highest level of quality in a timely manner

Performing spring start ups, winterizations and midseason inspections in accordance with customer contracts

Assessing and repairing all makes of sprinkler systems

Troubleshooting and/or repairing sprinkler timers, valves, pumps, fixtures and fittings

Using wire trackers and similar devices

Discussing, explaining and up selling customers on sprinkler improvements

Collecting customer payments

Using a tablet and/or smart phone to utilize sprinkler service software

Reporting any issues and/or concerns to the Irrigation Manager

Maintaining assigned company vehicle, equipment and materials responsibly

The pay rate for our Irrigation Service Technicians is based on experience and ranges between $16 and $24 per hour. Overtime pay, performance pay and any other reliability incentives earned will increase the net hourly rate for this position.
